Computer Networking
Programme Description
During this course, students should develop an understanding of computer networking and to explain the purpose of networking computers, how networks can be created and function. Upon completion of this course students should develop understanding on concepts of data network
The topics include

  • Networking concepts and architecture
  • Protocols, Open systems
  • Physical, electrical and software requirements
  • Ethernet frame structure and performance
  • Client/server architecture
  • Network supervision
  • Level of network access
  • Network security
  • The role of repeaters, bridges, routers and hubs

    Duration: 1 – 3 months (40 hours)
    Entry Requirement : SPM with 2 credits or its equivalent
    Delivery: Theory & Practical
    Assessment:: Coursework - 70%
    Project : 30%
    Award: Certificate of attendance will be awarded by IIC upon successful completion of the programme
